Mille Lacs Wellness Center Onamia, Minnesota

Project Description: The proposed District #1 Wellness Center shall be constructed as an addition to the current Community Center, constructed in 1995. The new Center shall include a Pool, Fitness Center, Community Classroom spaces and locker facilities. The District #1 Project shall be the first constructed of four to be developed in each community on the Mille Lacs Reservation for the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe. The Wellness Center will be an important attempt toward increasing the level of fitness of community members and reduce the prevalence of diabetes within the community. Courses in diet and exercise shall supplement the current recreation facilities.
