Project
Description: Krech Ojard's civil engineers worked on this project involving the construction of an 18-mile long bituminous-paved state trail in north central Minnesota – including 15 miles of construction on a former railroad grade and three miles of construction along an off-grade alignment that included numerous wetlands.

Issues and Needs:
In addition, a parallel aggregate snowmobile trail was constructed adjacent to the paved trail. Total construction cost for the two-year project was $1.54 million.
Services
provided:
• Project design modifications and construction administration, including construction staking, inspection, project management and pay request processing.
• Coordination with Minnesota DNR, Mn/DOT, Cass County, Cities of Walker & Cass Lake, and Leech Lake Tribe of Ojibwe
• In addition to project design
modifications and construction administration – KOA was involved in various aspects of wetland identification and mitigation
Project Summary:
The project was completed in September of 2001.
