Project Description: Krech Ojard was responsible for the reconstruction of 1150 feet of the Cenex-Harvest States loading dock in Superior, WI. The reconstruction of project will be completed in two phases. The first phase involved the 600 foot of dock completed in 2004. The second phase is scheduled for completion in 2008.

Features in the this project included construction of concrete dock supported on wood piles, a 160 foot high grain storage silo’s along dock face and 1150 feet of steel sheet pile bulkhead.

Special issues the Krech Ojard needed to address were loss of lateral support to silo mat piling and soil instability on and around dock.

Only one change order due to as-built being different from original construction drawings.

Services provided:
Preliminary design concepts and cost estimates for stabilization of dock and silo mat foundation
Final repair design specifications, contract documents, and bidding of new sheet pile bulkhead
Construction QA/QC management
Review original construction drawings
Comprehensive inspection and assessment (Level I, II, and III) and report
Vertical alignment measurements
Analysis of existing dock structure and grain elevator loads
Established operating restriction until repairs have been performed
Full video and still photograph documentation



Project Summary:

The project was completed in 2004 on schedule, to budget, and to the client's satisfaction.
