P & C Docks

Project
Description: Krech Ojard was initially charged with the inspection of the dock for this facility. Upon completing the long overdue inspection, it was clear that retroactive work was required to keep the dock in service for the desired life of the facility. The project engineer presented a variety of concept designs stepped to different levels within the client’s budgetary range. Construction drawings and a thorough specification were assembled for bid. Engineers assisted during the bid process to come up with creative cost-saving measures. During construction, the project engineer developed solutions to accommodate for field conditions discovered during excavation.
The original construction included concrete capped timber pile. Now with the new construction, this project included King Pile combi-wall with new tieback system. Micropiles were installed as required for new bollards and tower stabilization.
The final design was developed to account for limited steel piling availability combined with the narrow window of opportunity for construction..
