Description: Krech Ojard & Associates was hired to design a new boat launch in conjunction with construction of a safe harbor.
The State of Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Corps of Engineers completed construction of the first harbor of refuge/marina on the North Shore of Lake Superior. The Marina opened in August of 1999.
Although the facility was built by the U.S.Corps of Engineers and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the City of Silver Bay is the marina operator.
Krech Ojard designed the two lane boat launch as well as the service docks.
