Project
Description: This project involved
the reconstruction of 700 feet of deteriorated spur track,
including subgrade, new ties, new rail and ballasting. Construction
of 450 feet of new precast concrete rail crossing was also
included.
Special
Issues and Needs: Since
the project area was part of the main access track
to the plant, construction time needed to be minimized.
Track grades and elevations were adjusted to improve
car movements and drainage.
