CN Bridge Replacement
Gordon, Wisconsin |
 |
Project
Description: This project entailed the complete replacement of a Canadian National Railway bridge over a County Trunk Highway. It also involved the reconstruction of a quarter mile of the highway.

The new single-span bridge structure and its foundations were designed to allow for a transition bringing the old bridge offline and the new one online within an eight-hour span of time. This efficient transition minimized interruptions to critical railway traffic. On-site design/construction issues were handled on-site to complete the project with limited down time.
The design featured salvaged girders which were reconditioned, steel pilings, and sheet pile wing walls.
