CN Rail Siding Extensions
Ranier, Minnesota

Project Description: This project involved the construction of
about three miles of railway sidings adjacent to the Canadian National Railway’s mainline track at its Ranier rail yard.

The project required wetlands mitigation and the use of geogrid and geotextile fabrics to provide a suitable base for the new sidings.

Krech Ojard coordinated its design efforts with local agencies, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, and the Army Corp of Engineers.

Review existing railway and site conditions

Provide topographic survey of the existing area and surrounding features including the highway, adjacent roadways and utilities

Preliminary design concepts and cost estimates for the proposed structure alternatives

Prepare construction documents and specifications.

Assist the Client with the bidding and contractor selection process

Provide construction management services
