unit trains.
Special
Issues and Needs: To
reduce costs, the existing trackage was re-aligned
and switches were relocated wherever possible. Limited
space for construction and multiple tracks complicated
the design.

Project Summary:
The improvements to grades and trackage virtually eliminated derailments.
The new crossing is safer and stronger with much lower maintenance costs.
