Consumers Energy
Coal Generating Plant, Holland, Michigan

Krech Ojard teamed with a local Twin Ports contractor in this $13 million design/build contract. This project involves facility and equipment upgrades required to increase coal conveying rates of the power plants back-up fueling path from 900tph to 2000tph PRB coal.

KO conducted a review of the current train unloading system, is preparing a detailed design package (engineering, materials handling, structural design), preparing equipment specification packages, developing a maintenance and spare parts manual, providing construction management, construction inspection, QA/QC, and Primavera scheduling services.


Bena Community Center
Bena, Minnesota

The Bena Community Center is under construction and is almost complete. It is a 14,000 sf stand-alone Community Center building, including a Gymnasium, Locker Facilities, a Youth Center, Headstart /Early Childhood Education programs and the Elder’s Nutrition Program Kitchen /Dining facility. Future expansion phases include a community clinic, parking and expanded youth programming. The new center shall replace an existing out-dated center and shall be the center of the village of Bena located on the Leech Lake Reservation for the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.

Still to be installed: A tribal artist's inspired pattern will wrap along the top of the gym's precast exterior, and landscaping.

   
Graymont

Graymont Superior Plant Upgrades (formerly CLM)
Superior, Wisconsin

Krech Ojard was retained initially by the Cutler Magner Corporation for services to be performed on their Duluth/Superior Harbor plant, which is now owned by Graymont, to provide professional services related to the construction of a new kiln #5, a state of the art high efficiency preheater lime kiln, and other upgrades at their large Superior, Wisconsin plant. The facility produces calcined lime products and ground limestone.

Krech Ojard was hired to design all of the refractory, process, and storage equipment, on pile and helical anchor deep foundations, to support the installation of the new kiln. Additional work focused on development of “Balance of Plant” process flow, conveyor systems, silo dust control, dust collector upgrades, crushing and screening operations, material re-claim tunnel, integrated rail and truck load-out systems, as well as significant structural modifications to existing buildings to support the new process equipment.

Denver Water Gross Dam

Denver Water
Gross Dam, QAQC, Denver,CO

Denver Water, the Authority responsible for water supply in the Denver and front range area, commissioned the installation of an upstream Intake Control Gate 300’ under water at the Gross Dam Reservoir. This particular 72” intake tunnel supplies 30% of the water for a population of 3 million people and is considered lifeline infrastructure. Denver Water retained Krech Ojard’s Marine Division to provide continuous on-site Quality Control on this deepwater construction and currently has also retained Krech Ojard's services at other sites.
