CALCITE HARBOR DEVELOPMENT

Krech Ojard & Associates performed preliminary schematic design development for a new coal handling port facility to receive and unload vessels up to one thousand feet long at Calcite Harbor.

Krech Ojard Marine Engineer Certified Divers were utilized for investigating existing conditions underwater.

Krech Ojard engineers investigated eight options and combinations of breakwalls as well as an option for a new slip addition.

Final design featured a new slip approximately 600’x200′ in combination with break wall extensions of about 400′ to allow mooring of 1000′ vessels.

Design features: Steel sheet pilings, bulkheads and slipwalls combined with a rubble filled break water.
