Structural Engineer/Project Manager
Definition for Structural Engineer/Project Manager:
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Professionally dedicated to delivering high-quality, well-organized documents to clients.
- Familiarity and experience with analysis and design of structural systems and components.
- Experience with building and non-building structures and systems.
- Develop plan details appropriate to indicate the materials and specifications required to construct or fabricate systems to transmit structural loads.
- Direct Engineers in Training and technicians in the preparations of plans and other construction documents.
- Perform site observations and inspection of construction projects.
- Prepare reports and oral presentations for both internal and client use.
- Performs other related functions as assigned or apparent.
- Work within budget and deadlines to client satisfaction.
- Work within multi-disciplinary terms in varying roles.
Required Knowledge and Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic structural engineering principles and practices applied to project design and construction.
- Ability to work in multiple roles in a dynamic team environment.
- Ability to plan and direct the work of EIT’s, engineering technicians and other staff.
- Ability to make engineering calculations, estimates and designs.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
- Ability to make reports of on-site inspections and observations of construction projects.
- Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate and interact with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and clients.
- Experience with Revit and Microsoft Office.
Qualifications:
- Education: Have attained PE licensure in Minnesota (or ability to become licensed in 6 mos)
- Experience: Three to ten years post-graduate experience in an engineering environment. Undergraduate experience in construction or engineering-related activity preferred.
